Can I use it abroad?
Yes. You can document rentals in the UK, across Europe, Canada, the USA and Australia. Start with the registration and enter any missing vehicle details yourself. Automatic recognition and vehicle lookup vary by country.
Is this only for airport rentals?
No. Use it wherever you collect a rental car: at the airport, a city branch, a hotel or closer to home. The useful moment is the same — before you drive away.
Why not just use my phone camera?
Photos are a useful start, but a camera won’t prompt you to check another angle or flag a mark you may have overlooked. PickupLens adds guided coverage, AI photo checks and a report linking your observations to the rental. Your original photos and video evidence stay available.
Will a report stop a damage charge?
It gives you a record to refer to if a charge is questioned, but it cannot guarantee that a charge will be prevented or overturned. Check the rental company’s condition record and raise any differences before driving away.
What does one purchase include?
A collection scan and an optional return scan for the same rental, with no subscription. You see the price in the app before you pay.
What if I’ve already filmed the car?
Add your video to the scan. PickupLens prepares photos for you to review and keeps the original clip. You can add more clips, or share a private upload link with someone who has the footage.

Can I use my report to dispute a card charge?
Yes, you can provide your report and original evidence to support a dispute. Raise the charge with the rental company first. If it remains unresolved, contact your bank or card issuer promptly about chargeback or other options. Include the rental agreement, the charge and your correspondence. Eligibility and time limits depend on the payment, card scheme and country; providing evidence does not guarantee a refund.
Is the evidence tamper-proof?
Each uploaded original has a digital fingerprint (SHA-256), so a file can be checked against the copy stored by PickupLens and our saved records. A third party with your original files and a trusted copy of your report can repeat that fingerprint check using standard tools. Matching fingerprints confirm that the file’s bytes match the saved record. Finalised reports keep their original version, with later amendments saved as a new revision.
